A brief history of Carmela Aigen, Hebrew teacher at Akiva School and the wife of prominent Montreal rabbi, Ron Aigen. Carmela's vibrant history runs parallel to the history of the State of Israel. She was born on a kibbutz, lived on a settlement in the Negev, served in the army, and by good fortune turned into a first-class educator--beginning with olim from Russia, and later on, in Canada, educating children and imparting to them a love of Israel, and its land and people.
