Dr. Sidney Katz, Professor Emeritus of Pharmaceutical Sciences at UBC, talks about growing up in Montreal, including his experiences as a student at Herzliah and McGill in the 1950s-1970s. He fondly remembers the students and teachers at Herzliah, especially his homeroom teacher, poet Irving Layton. Dr. Katz completed a bachelor of science, master of science in pharmacology, and doctor of philosophy in pharmacology and therapeutics at McGill University. He was awarded the Order of Canada in 2003 for his contribution to science education and awareness in Canada.
