Listen to Zaki Ghavitian recount his memories of growing up in Iran, his move to Montreal without knowing a soul – or a word of English or French – and his struggle to maintain and transmit his family's traditions in a new country. Since coming to Canada, Zaki Ghavitian has served as the president of the Jewish Iranian Association in Montreal, as well as being involved with the Canadian Jewish Congress and the Communauté Sépharade Unifée du Quebec, while also working as an engineer for Hydro Québec and serving as president of l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec and as the president of Engineers Canada.
